Banking in Gods

I’m not talking about your money, but something far more important—your eternal salvation. Each of us is investing our lives in something. It may be a career. It may be building a solid marriage and rearing our children. But, we all are allotted a certain number of days. We spend them doing something. The sum total of how we spend our days amounts to the investment of our lives. Whatever your age, you need to think carefully about how to invest wisely the few short years that God gives you. Jesus asked the vital question (Mark 8:36), “For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?”

Because the Bible is a collection of ancient books from many different religions we have absolutely no idea which God we should really be worshiping. Therefore, we need to diversify our investment.

In your retirement account, you’ve probably heard about the need to diversify the investments in your portfolio – because if you invest all of your money in one stock or sector, you risk having the entire strategy blow up in your face when something goes wrong.

Similarly, you don’t want to invest all of your faith in one God. If the trends change or your friends and family stop believing in that one God, your entire salvation strategy is dead in the fires of many hells. So keep your God worshiping efforts diversified to protect yourself.

The more Gods you pray to the more likely you are of pleasing the right God. Therefore, you should invest your time wisely. Buy yourself some knee pads and many different Bibles and start praying to all the different Gods today. “For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?” (Mark 8:36)
